Cotswold Cider Company started when Rory and his family moved to an old Oxfordshire water mill. Keen not to waste the massive crop of apples from mature trees that would otherwise go to waste, Rory had to do the decent thing and ferment the juice. However, the result from a mix of cooking and eating apples was not enough to satisfy Rory's desire for the deep, rich flavours of proper cider. In 2009 a local cider apple orchard was acquired and Cotswold Cider Company was started as a hobby... then No Brainer was born!
2012 was a breakthrough year when Cotswold Cider Company won Best Exhibit at British Cider Championships at the Royal Bath and West Show. In the following years, Sideburns, Sweet Cheeks and BlowHorn were launched, and in 2015 Rory's part-time passion became a full-time obsession.
Cotswold Cider Company has now won numerous awards, including Great Taste Awards for Sideburns and SweetCheeks, and medals at international competitions such as the Frankfurt International Cider Competition in 2018 and at Great Lakes, the US’ premier cider competition.
