Cuckoo Valley are a small, family-run craft cider producer based near Nacekuke in West Cornwall. The family orginally started making cider at their home in Colbrook, Berkshire, to use fruit from big old apple trees in their garden that would otherwise go to waste. However, with family in Cornwall and a yearning to make cider from traditional cider varieties, in 2014 they found a great spot to start planting their own traditional orchard. In 2016 the family moved to Cornwall and Cuckoo Valley Cider was born.
Although Cuckoo Valley have planted over 1000 cider and perry trees spanning more than 40 varieties, the orchard still being relatively young, so fruit from their own orchard is supplimented with apples from a neighbour's orchard. The fruit is pressed, fermented, matured and bottled on-site under the watchful eye of dogs, bees, geese, horses and pigs!
