Gwatkin Cider is a family run business set in the rolling hills of Hereforshire's Golden Valley. Cider is made on-site from their own unsprayed apple and pear orchards, which are marked on a map of the area from 1831. Moorhampton Park Farm is also a working livestock farm and the family home, and where the family host an annual music festival. More recently they have branched out into making cider brandy and perry vodka.
Craft cider and perry is made from 100% fresh juice, using traditional methods without adding sulphites, which allows natural yeasts to flourish. This approach and the quality of their products have won them numerous awards, among them CAMRA Cider and Perry of the Year and International Cidermaker of the Year.
Gwatkin have a farm shop, a tap room, and a micropub in Hereford's Butter Market, while their cider is shipped abroad as far as Italy and Russia. They also visit shows and festivals across the country, and have even featured on TV.
