Following years of successful cider-making for pleasure, Dave and Roger took the plunge and set up Mates Cider Company in 2010. A small, craft producer, based in some farm buildings in Minety, North Wiltshire, they usually supply local pubs, bistros and shops, as well as some festivals and events.
Dave and Roger make traditional, modern and flavoured ciders, along with a perry. They do not have their own orchards, so they use local apples for their modern style ciders. For their traditional style cider and perry, fruit is sourced from unsprayed orchards in Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Somerset. Each spring they have a tasting and blending session, to help with consistency between years.
Mates Cider Company have won a host of CAMRA festival awards for their Linnet Rhubarb Cider. They are also proud to have won Bronze for their Goldeneye dry cider in The International Cider Competition 2018, run by Hereford Cider Museum.
