Monnow Valley Cider is a small producer based near Pontypool in South Wales. Kevin Garrod originally learnt about apple varieties and cider-making while working for another Welsh producer, Gwynt Y Draig. Although a wood-crafter by trade, Kevin has continued to make award-winning, small-batch, full-juice Welsh cider and perry. He uses hand-picked fruit from unsprayed, low-intensity orchards containing rare varieties, which he helps to manage and restore. Kevin follows a traditional and natural approach to making cider and perry, with minimal intervention and avoiding additives.
