Ross-On-Wye Beauty of Bath is a modern, dry, single variety cider made from an early-season eating apple that can make a surprisingly good cider. Ripening in August it has a naturally low ABV and when sweetened, tastes just as the apple did when plucked from the branches.

Beauty of Bath originates from Bailbrook near Bath in the 19th century and was commercially grown as an early dessert apple, although it fell out of favour as it bruises easily and has a very short shelf life. It is thought to be an ancestor of the more famous Discovery apple.

The Johnson family have made craft cider and perry at Broome Farm since the 1930's and have won a plethora of awards, including BBC Food and Farming Winner 2019. They grow over 100 types of apple and 30 of perry pears in their unsprayed orchards, which they naturally ferment using wild yeasts.
