Ross-On-Wye Major is a traditional, dry, single variety cider from a supremely fruity variety that often develops a strong phenolic nose, resulting in a complex and full-flavoured bittersweet cider. It is a favourite on Broome Farm and ideal paired with dark chocolate. The apple is thought to originate from Somerset in the 19th century, and was widely planted in the late 20th century.

The Johnson family have made craft cider and perry at Broome Farm since the 1930's and have won a plethora of awards, including BBC Food and Farming Winner 2019. They grow over 100 types of apple and 30 of perry pears in their unsprayed orchards, which they naturally ferment using wild yeasts.
